Kano state House of Assembly has approved the nomination of former chairman of the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, as a commissioner in the cabinet of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
The House screened Abass at an emergency session on Thursday shortly after he tendered his resignation as chairman of the party in the state.

Abbas was the commissioner for environment under Engineer Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso’s administration.
He is yet to be assigned a portfolio for his current appointment.
Speaking shortly after the screening, Abbas pledged to work together with every member of the party in the state executive council to ensure the development of Kano State.
“Any ministry l am taken to, l will put all my efforts to ensure that the party remain united for the betterment of the state and also use my experience in all aspects,” he said.
