The General Overseer, the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, will hold a special Christmas service in Ibadan on Friday, December 23.
The special service, which is part of the annual Christmas Go-A-Fishing programme of the church, will hold at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium (formerly Liberty Stadium) by 6am. He will then move to Oyo and Ogbomoso for similar service the same day.
In the words of the Pastor in Charge of Region 21 (Oyo State), Charles Obasa, “the visit of the General Overseer to our region very, very important in the sense that when one realises that the physical is controlled by the spiritual, when a spiritual head or leader, a man of God is visiting a city, it is for a purpose. God does not do anything by accident. Anything God does is for a purpose. So, we believe that the visit of Pastor Adeboye to Ibadan and by extension to the whole of Oyo State is very important and there is a purpose for that visit at this time.
“We wish to inform the generality of people in Oyo State that the word is coming live to Ibadan to be a blessing to the entire populace of Oyo State. He is coming to bring blessing, pray for us and prophesy into our lives. In particular when the year is running to an end, that visit on Friday December 22 is very critical and important. The blessing of God would put us in good stead and prepare us for the new year to ensure this year ends gloriously and that 2018 is gloriously also.”
Region 21 comprises 2,000 parishes and 16 provinces.
Obasa revealed that about 22 shuttle buses will be stationed in 22 designated locations in the city to convey people to the venue of the programme.
The bus locations include New Garage, RCCG Jesus Embassy in Dugbe, Mobil, Ring Road, Elebu, NEPA area at Dugbe, Challenge, Lalupon, Olodo, Idi-Ayunre, Olorunsogo, Mapo,Ojoo, Ologuneru, Monatan/Iwo-road, Alakia, Bus stop/Gate, Akobo/Anifalaje, Apata, University of Ibadan, Sango and Eleyele.
The cleric also added that the church has made provision for adequate security with a strong medical team and traffic control personnel to make the programme hitch-free for participants. He urged residents to arrive early to enable them experience the fulfillment of the Holy Spirit.
The Go-A-Fishing programme continues in various locations in the state by local parishes on Saturday and Sunday, many of which will be free medical and welfare outreaches. The theme of this year’s programme is “Priceless Gift”.
