The Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, celebrated a double on Friday, December 16, 2016. The day was his 67th birthday and got a special invitation from the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji.
At the Olubadan’s residence in Popoyemoja, Ibadan, on Friday evening, Ajimobi and his wife, Florence, were installed as the Aare and Yeye Aare of Ibadanland.
Governor Ajimobi becomes the 4th person to hold the important position which translated from Yoruba means “President of Ibadanland”.
The last to hold the title was late philanthropist, Aare Azeez Arisekola-Alao.
Present at the installation ceremony were Deputy Governor of the State, Moses Alake Adeyemo, speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Adesina Michael Adeyemo and former Governor of the State, Adebayo Alao-Akala.
Ibadan Chiefs at the event include: High Chief Lekan Balogun, High Chief Eddy Oyewole, Bashorun Kola Daisi, Chief Lekan Alabi and a host of others.
