Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, on Thursday reportedly said Boko Haram terrorists were responsible for the raping and killing of two women in the state last week.
Two elderly women identified as Christiana and Matina were last week alleged to have been raped and killed at their farms by suspected herders in Ewu community, Esan Central Local Government Area.
Daily Trust however reports that Governor Obaseki, who visited the families of the deceased on Thursday, said the killers were not ordinary herders but Boko Haram fighters who fled from the North-East.
He urged security agents to beef up security in the boarder area with Kogi State.
