One of the Chibok schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram has been found with a 10-month-old baby.
The military in a statement on Saturday said troops of 121 Battalion, deployed at Pulka, Gwoza Local Government Area, Borno State, found the girl at about 6am on Saturday, November 5, 2016.
Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman Acting Director Army Public Relations said in the statement that soldiers were screening some escapees from Boko Haram terrorists hideout in Sambisa forest when they discovered the girl identified as Maryam Ali Maiyanga.
She was among the escapees being screened, the statement said, adding that her son was named, Ali.
The statement said further: “She has been taken to the unit’s medical facility for proper medical check up. It is imperative to state that troops have been working round the clock to clear remnants of Boko Haram terrorists wherever they might be hibernating and also rescue all persons held hostages by terrorists”.
