…Meets Osinbajo during surprise visit.
President Goodluck Jonathan received a cold reception at the Holy Ghost service at the camp of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Friday night.
He sprang a surprise when it was announced that an August visitor was in attendance in person of Mr President. The congregation expressed surprise at his presence even as they did not show enthusiasm unlike they did at the Special Holy Ghost Service in March, 2011. Then, his appearance threw the mammoth congregation into a frenzy of jubilation, prompting the General Overseer (GO) of the church to pray profusely for him. The development was seen as an endorsement by the revered priest and helped him in no small measure in the 2011 election.
This night, spotting a carton brown agbada, Jonathan grinned from ear to ear, waving to the congregation as the camera zoomed on him.
As he walked to the pulpit, he shook hands with the top ministers on the altar. As the Vice Presidential candidate of the APC, Pastor (Prof ) Yemi Osinbajo rose up to shake Jonathan’s hands, the congregation screamed in ecstasy, seeing two opposing major candidates in the next week election embracing each other.
In his speech, Jonathan said he was not at the camp to campaign but to thank the GO, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, his ministers, members of the church and all Nigerian Christians for their prayers for the peace of the country. He urged them not to relent.
Thereafter, Adeboye prayed God to grant him wisdom and strength to lead Nigeria. He also prayed for the peace of the nation.
His coming to camp is no more new. He always come during election season. His gimmick doesn’t work this time
