The deposed Iyaloja of Ibadan, Chief Labake Lawal will on Thursday, May 18, make an appearance on ‘Community Today’, an online television programme on the platform of CEOAfrica, an online media organisation.
The interactive session which will witness the presence of journalists from several online and mainstream media, will hold at the premises of CEOAfrica Building located at 24, Kudeti Avenue, Onireke, Ibadan, Oyo State Capital.
Chief Lawal is expected to throw light on issues surrounding her removal from her official duties as the Iyaloja of Ibadan land as well as her decision to challenge the deposition in the court.
Following her ousting from the position of the Iyaloja by the Olubadan of Ibadan in March this year and the installation of a new Iyaloja, Chief Lawal last Friday charged the monarch, Oba SaliuAdetunji, the Olubadan-in-Council and the new Iyaloja, Chief Iswat Ameringun to court to challenge the ousting.

Chief Lawal in the suit filed at an Oyo State High Court is seeking a declaration that appointment and installation of the third defendant as Iyaloja of Ibadan land by the first and second defendants on March 20 was illegal.
While stating that the appointment and installation was not only wrong, but also violated her rights to natural justice, Chief Lawal prayed the court to declare her opponent’s appointment null and void and of no legal effect.
Chief Labake Lawal was appointed as the Iyaloja of Ibadan 11 years ago by the late Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Yunusa Ogundipe.
