Former Presidential Spokesman to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reuben Abati, has been detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
A source said the columnist was arrested on Monday after he was alleged to have received money from former NSA, Sambo Dasuki, who is also being tried for misappropriating the arms funds amongst several other charges.
The funds were allegedly used to prosecute the 2015 presidential election on behalf of the Goodluck Jonathan presidential campaign.
Abati becomes the fourth former aide of Jonathan currently in EFCC custody.
A former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro and Femi Fani-Kayode, a former campaign spokesperson to Jonathan are also presently in custody of the agency over the same matter.
