This is bad news for all those waiting to see the much talked about movie, “Fifty Shades of Grey”.
The National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) has banned the blockbuster movie, “Fifty Shades of Grey” in Nigerian cinemas.
NFVCB ordered the removal of the highly anticipated movie from the list of movies showing at cinemas.
The movie which has also been banned in Kenya and Malaysia, is a 2015 american erotic romantic drama film directed based on a bestselling novel of the same name by E. L. James.
It had a wide theatrical release on February 13, 2015 by Universal Pictures. It got mixed reviews from critics but was an immediate box office success, earning more than $315 million.
Reason for its ban in Nigeria is no doubt due to its high erotic content. But one area of disappointment to many who watched out for the movie was that its erotic content was greatly reduced compared to what was in the book
