Brazillian football star, Robinho, has been sentenced to nine years in prison after an Italian court found him guilty of group sexual assault against a 22-year-old woman.
According to reports from the Italian state news agency (ANSA), Robinho, 33, committed the crime at a Milanese nightclub on January 22, 2013, when he was a player at AC Milan.
Five other individuals were also convicted alongside the football star for their involvement in the assault.
The sentence has not been enforced however as he has the opportunity to appeal the ruling.
Robinho, formerly played for clubs such as Milan, Manchester City and Real Madrid and currently with Atletico Mineiro in his home country of Brasil.
The star, according to a post on his Instagram account, has denied involvement in the allegation.
