House of Reps begins moves to overide Buhari on Amendment Electoral Act, Peace Corps bill

The House of Representatives has introduced the Electoral Act Amendment bill which President Muhammadu Buhari refused to assent to.

The first reading of the bill which was done on Wednesday signals the move by the house, to override the President’s decision.

The House is going also ahead to override the President’s refusal to sign the Nigeria peace corps bill.

The two bills were re-introduced and read for the first time at Wednesday’s plenary

The controversial re-ordering of the election sequence is not the only amendment made to the electoral act. The use of electronic voting system also formed part of the proposed amendment.
