The tribunal hearing petitions arising from the August 2014 Osun State election will deliver its judgment today, Friday, February 6, 2015.
The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate, Senator Iyiola Omisore, who came second during the election with 292,747 votes, is challenging the result of the election which the All Progressives Congress candidate, Governor Rauf Aregbesola won with 394,284 votes.
Omisore is challenging the election before the Justice Elizabeth Ikpejime led tribunal, in some units and wards in 17 local government councils of the state, alleging that election was fraught with irregularities and manipulation in favour of the APC and its candidate, Aregbesola.
Omisore is also praying the panel to cancel the election results in the affected councils and declare him winner.
Ahead of the judgment, there is anxiety in Osogbo, with anti-riot policemen already patrolling the state capital.
Armed policemen and operatives of the State Security Service have also been stationed at strategic locations in the town.
