About 100 people are suspended in cable cars over the German city of Cologne after one collided with a support pillar, Metro UK reports.
The cable cars got stuck just above the Rhine river. Images showed children being brought down to safety by firemen after the system was shut down.
It was learnt that 32 cable cars were running at the time of the collision. The other 31 were halted as a precaution when one ran into the pillar.
The DPA news agency reported that as many as 100 people are stranded, according to transport and fire department officials.
No injuries have been reported.
