Kidnappers, who on Monday, abducted an 87-year-old American woman missionary , Rev. Phyllis Sortor, at her church premises at Emi Woro, Kogi state, have demanded N30million for her release.
According to Sortor’s aide, Mr Jacob Ahiaba, the kidnappers had earlier established contact with the church to demand N60million ransom but Sortor later called back to say that the kidnappers had reduced the ranson to N30million.
The Commissioner of Police in Kogi, Mr Adeyemi Ogunjemilusi, confirmed the development saying that the kidnappers had actually established contact with members of the church asking for N30 million for her release.
He said that the police were making efforts to rescue her.
