The measles outbreak that has rocked five regions of England has now infected
At least 140 people have been infected in the recent measles outbreak in England. Five regions have been hot according to reports.
Figures released by Public Health England shows the breakdown as follows:
- West Midlands – 47
- West Yorkshire – 35
- Cheshire and Liverpool – 29
- Surrey – 22
- Greater Manchester – 7
The PHE is calling on parents to ensure their chikdren are vaccinated against measles, mumps and rubella (MMR)
Daily Mail UK reports that Dr Mary Ramsay, head of immunisation at PHE, believes the outbreak could be down to travellers coming back to the country from Europe.
There is currently an epidemic of the contagious viral infection in Italy, Germany and Romania.
