Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe, has finally spoken out in the controversy that raged over a dress she wore for her 40th birthday photoshoot.
A lady claimed to be the owner of the dress and cried out on social media after she recognised it dress when the actress posted pictures from the photo shoot on her Instagram page.
The lady said she paid the designer to make the dress for her wedding reception but got the day ruined after the designer failed to deliver the dress she paid for.
The designer, Maryiam Elisha of RikatobyME apologised later, claiming that the disaster was due to a dispatch error.
Aigbe, in an Instagram post this morning, spoke on the controversy for the first time.
She apologised to the bride for the heartbreak she got as a result of the fashion designer’s “unprofessionalism”.
She howver added that she has asked her lawyer to take up the matter, indicating that a legal action against the designer might be in the offing. She however said the legal action would be handled “without festering an already open wound”
The actress said she had never met the designer in person as the dress, along woth three others used for the photoshoot, were acquired by a stylist she paid to arrange for the shoot.
