NBA star Dennis Rodman will be at the historic meeting between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Singapore on June 12, sources claim.
Rodman a.k.a The Worm, who has famously built a bizarre friendship with the dictator in recent years, will arrive in the country on June 11 and could even play a role in negotiations.
Rodman visited North Korea as part of a vice special in 2013. He was invited to the country because Kim was a fan of Rodman while growing up. After the meeting ,Rodman described Kim as a ‘Friend of life’.
A week prior, Trump called off the summit in a letter to Kim after the dictator’s regime insulted the vice president and attempted to dramatically shift the terms of a pact with the U.S.
Trump on Friday said that both he and his counterparts are ‘over that, totally over that, and now we’re going to deal.’
“We’re meeting with the chairman on June 12. And I think it’s probably going to be a very successful, ultimately a successful process. We’ll see,” Trump added.
Rodman’s rep, Darren Prince, said the basketball legend had ‘talked about it’ but had not made any travel plans to Singapore-although he said he was willing to go if the word leader wanted his input.
