Actor, Yul Edochie, scion of veteran Nollywood star, Pete Edochie, has decamped to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), few weeks after losing the November 18 Anambra governorship election to Governor Willie Obiano.
Yul Edochie, 35, contested for the governorship on the platform of Democratic People’s Congress (DPC), polling 143 votes.
He announced his new party today on Twitter.
His words: “So my Governor His Excellency Chief Dr. Willie Obiano (Akpokue Dike) congratulated me for being brave enough to run for Governor at 35, for running the race till the end and for being a worthy ambassador to Anambra/Nigerian youths. He officially welcomed me into APGA”
The governor, topped the poll in all 21 local government areas, with a total of 234, 072 votes to beat his closest rival, Dr. Tony Nwoye of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who scored 98, 752 votes. Mr. Oseloka Obaze of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, polled 70, 293 votes to come third, while Osita Chidoka of the United Progressives Party, UPP, polled 7, 903 votes to come fourth.
