A week 8 match of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) turned violent between two coaches when Kwara United Head Coach, Maji Mohammed attacked his Katsina United counterpart, Abdulahi Biffo.
According to reports, trouble started after a Kwara United defender handled the ball in his own 18 yard box, but the referee gave a corner kick instead of a penalty kick, sparking complaints from the Katsina United players.
The match ended 2-1 in favour of Kwara United who were at home.
Reports added that after the final whistle, the Katsina coach, sensing tension, rushed to send his players out of the pitch but the Kwara United coach rushed at him and dealth him a hot slap.
What coukd have turned into a major fracas was averted as fellow team officials waded in and preventing the two men from exchanging blows.
