Itesiwaju Local Government Area will be the first local government to benefit from an industrialisation deal the Oyo State Government has struck with a foreign company, Allied Atlantic Distilleries.
The company is an international agro-allied firm specialise in cassava cultivation to produce Ethanol, Starch and other cassava-related goods.
According to the Caretaker Chairman of Itesiwaju Local Government Area, Hon. Adeniyi Adeagbon, by the time the firm commences operation, “the council will not be only industrialised but our people will be gainfully employed”.
Adeagbo said this on Tuesday, while hosting a state government delegation led by Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Surveying, Hon. Isaac Omodewu and a team from the firm who were in Otu community to finalise agreement with the stakeholders.
“The representative of the investing company, Mr. Rajashekarr, vowed that they will not fail in fulfilling their corporate social responsibilities to the host community, Otu.” Adeagbo said.
The LG boss thanked Governor Abiola Ajimobi for his unfailing determination to improve agriculture and industrialise Oyo State. He promised that his council will leave no stone unturned in order to ensure a hitch-free take off of the company’s operation.
Present at the enlarged meeting were Oyo State Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Surveying, the Permanent Secretary, Surveyor-General, the Directors and some top officials of the ministry.
Special Adviser to Governor on Food Security Mrs Shadipe and other top government officials were also in attendance.
The Oniro of Otu, Oba Sunday Adepoju led the community chiefs, landowners and other stakeholders to the meeting.
