A member of the House of Representatives from Adamawa State, Adamu Kamale, who represents Madagali/Michika federal constituency, has defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
His defection was announced on Tuesday in a letter read by the Speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara, on the floor of the house.
Mr. Kamale cited divisions in the Peoples Democratic Party as his reason for defecting.
His defection is coming barely two weeks after his counterpart from Plateau, Edward Pwajok, declared for the APC.
The minority whip, Yakubu Barde, however said there was no division in the PDP and said his party would challenge Mr. Kamale’s defection in court.
