A Bangladeshi plane with 67 passengers onboard crashed on Monday in a football pitch near Kathmandu International Airport in Nepal.
The plane crashed while trying to land at the airport. It reportedly skidded off the runway, crashed and burst into flames.
Airport spokesman Prem Nath Thakir said number of casualties is yet to be ascertained and that firefighters and rescue workers are on the scene.
“There were 67 passengers and 4 crew members aboard the plane.
“So far 20 injured have been taken to the hospital. Police and army are trying to cut apart the plane to rescue others.
“We are trying to bring the fire under control. Details are awaited,the airport had been shut down and all other flights diverted.
“We’re now concentrating on evacuating the passengers.” Thakur confirmed to CBS.
