Students of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso on Thursday continued their ongoing protest in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, marching to the Government House at Okefia.
They are protesting against the stoppage of funding to the institution and non-payment of their lecturers and other staff for the past eight months.
They defied early morning rains and marched from Olaiya Junction to the Government House, singing anti-government songs and vowed to continue with the protest until the governors of Oyo and Osun States accede to their demands.
Hundreds of students of the institution started the protest on Wednesday and marched through the major streets to the State Secretariat. They later came to Olaiya Junction and blocked the roads causing heavy traffic snarl.
The protest is coinciding with the climax of activities marking the 60th birthday of Governor Rauf Aregbesola.
Security personnel prevented the students from blocking the entrance to the Government House but the students gathered in front of Laro High School close to the Government House and continued with their protest.
