The Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to her third child – a baby boy. Kensington Palace announced that the new prince arrived at 11.01am, weighing 3.8kg (8lb 7oz).
The Duchess, Catherine, wife of the Queen’s grandson, Prince William, was admitted to the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital, in central London, on Monday morning.
The baby, who will be known as HRH Prince of Cambridge, will be fifth in line to the throne, behind grandfather Prince Charles, father Prince William, brother Prince George and sister Princess Charlotte.
Predicted names, according to the UK Telegraph, include Arthur, Albert, Frederick, James and Philip.
He knocks his uncle, Prince Harry (Prince William’s younger brother) to sixth place to the throne. Harry is set ro marry American actress, Meghn Markle next month
