The soldier allegedly involved in the recent shooting and killing of a 30-year-old old man, Kehinde Adeleke at the parking lot of a bar in Trans amusement Park, Ibadan, has been arrested.
The Army presented him at the Iyaganku State CID Ibadan on Thursday where he and others arrested with him were drilled for hours and made to write statements .
It was gathered that the General Officer Commanding, of the 2 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major Gen. Okwudili Azinta had ordered investigation into the allegation against his men attached to the security outfit of the Oyo state government code named ” Operation Burst” which comprises men of the Civil Defence, Nigeria Police and soldiers .
The deceased’s family had accused the bar owner, Seyi Olusa, of grabbing a riffle from a soldier attached to the Operation Burst and after shooting Adeleke to death, returned the riffle to the soldier.
Some eyewitnesses have however described the allegation as false. They maintained that a soldier attached to Operation Burst shot the victim and not the bar owner, who is currently in detention.
Kehinde’s twin brother, Taiwo, however alleged that Olusa grabbed a gun from a soldier and shot the victim after a disagreement at the car park.
But some persons who witnessed of the shooting, said Olusa was not at the car park when the shooting happened. They wondered how someone would grab a gun from a soldier, shoot another person and then return the gun to the soldier.
