US President Donald Trump has explained why he may never trust the mainstream media to do objective coverage of his presidency.
Trump has not enjoyed a cordial relationship with the traditional media since he was sworn almost a year ago.
Each time there is a critical reportage on him in the mainstream media, he fires back with strong words using his Twitter account which has become a very potent tool for his presidency.
According to TwitterCounter, Trump, on Twitter, has “an audience attentiveness score of 69%, which stems from being tracked on 80,774 Twitter lists”. The account, @realDonaldTrump, active since 2009, has over 44.5million followers and is ranked number 20 in the world.

No US President or world leader has deployed the use of Twitter like Trump. Despite his busy schedule as President of the United States, he tweets an average of six times a day.
He took to the micro-blogging platform to explain that he uses the social media to get the truth out because 90 per cent of the mainstream media deliberately publish untrue stories about him.
Tump calls most of the media houses in question, Fake News Media and has never hidden his dislike for CNN which has also not been easy on him when it comes to verbal exchanges.
Trump tweeted on Wednesday: “Wow, more than 90% of Fake News Media coverage of me is negative, with numerous forced retractions of untrue stories. Hence my use of Social Media, the only way to get the truth out. Much of Mainstream Meadia has become a joke! @foxandfriends”.
