Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has unbelievably listed Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, among several persons to be honoured for their individual contributions to the development of Rivers State.
Reports said Amaechi was number 18 on the list of 29 persons listed by the Jubilee Anniversary Committee set up by the governor.
Also on the list are Former President Goodluck Jonathan and former Head of State, Yakubu Gowon. Late activist, Ken Saro-Wiwa, is also up for a posthumous award.
They are to be awarded Grand Service Star of Rivers State at a ceremony billed for May 27 in Port Harcourt.
There has been severe rivalry between Wike and Amaechi who governed the state between 2007 and 2015.
It is left to be seen whether Amaechi would attend the ceremony in person or send a representative to receive the award or even reject it outrightly.
