Kaduna begins recruitment of new teachers to replace incompetent ones (HOW TO APPLY)
The Kaduna State government has started the process of recruiting new teachers into the state public primary schools.
This follows the mass failure that greeted the last competence test administered on teachers in the state. About 21,780 out of the 33,000 teachers tested failed the primary 4 based examination.
The state governor, Nasir el-Rufai had vowed to recruit new and competent teachers to replace the incompetent ones.
El-Rufai had said: “We tested 33,000 primary school teachers by giving them primary four examination. They were expected to get at least 75percent but I am sad to announce that 66 percent of the teachers did not get the required percentage. The hiring of teachers in the past was politicized and we are determined to change the trend by bringing in young and qualified primary school teachers to take education in the state to a greater heights”
The government on Thursday announced that it is accepting “applications from interested and qualified candidates for teaching appointments into public primary schools across the state”.
