A 20-year-old vulcanizer identified as Ezekiel Oyewole has been arrested for stabbing an 18-year-old mechanic apprentice, Saliman Rafiu, to death with a scissors.
Police said the stabbing which occured on Monday afternoon over allegation by the deceased that the suspect changed his (deceased’s) phone battery where they were charging their phones.
During the brawl, according to an eye witness account, the suspect allegedly stabbed the deceased in the neck with a pair of scissors.
The victim was immediately rushed to the Bowen University Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso, where he later died while receiving medical attention. The corpse has been deposited at the hospital morgue for autopsy.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Oyo State command, while confirming thr incudent, said detectives from the Owode-Ogbomoso police division arrested the suspect.
He statement adds that “the CP, Abiodun Odude, has directed that the case should be transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Dept., Iyaganku for diligent investigation and prosecution”.
