A 47-year-old woman in Assiut province, a rural area in Egypt has died of avian influenza popularly called Bird flu.
Egypt Health Ministry’s spokesman, Hossam Abdel-Ghaffar, said on Monday in Cairo that the woman’s death brings the number of avian-related deaths to four this year.
Abdel-Ghaffar said there are two other cases in treatment, bringing the total number of cases in Egypt to 20 this year so far.
His words: “This includes four deaths as well as six recoveries and 10 cases still under treatment,’’
According to the W.H.O, there has been a jump in the number of bird flu-related deaths in humans in Egypt but there is nothing to explain the trend.
