Ten Nigerians have emerged millionaires in the United Bank for Africa ‘Save and Win N1 million’ promo.
They emerged at the first draw for the promo on Friday, May 7, conducted on the Zoom communication platform.
Some of the winners include Ezeigbokwe Purity, Emeka Onyemauchi, Joseph Eze and Aliu Yaro.
The audience, made up of customers, journalists and members of the public, witnessed the emergence of the 10 millionaires through a random selection in an electronic ballot.
Speaking at the unveiling of the winners, the Head, Retail and Personal Banking of UBA, Osita Ede, said the promo was launched this year, adding that it would be a continuous exercise.
He said: “The promo is a way of touching lives, showing appreciation to customers and encourage savings. The draw would be held every quarter and it is for all savings account holders with UBA.”
Ede, who noted that the 10 winners emerged from over 862,000 customers who qualified, said anyone can win as long as they have a savings account with the bank and save N10,000 for three months consecutively or N30,000 for three consecutive months.
The representative of the National Lottery Commission, Tomilola Akigbokun, described the draw as fair and transparent.
Speaking, Head of Media and External Relations of UBA, Ramon Olanrewaju, appreciated the “loyal customers” and congratulated the winners on “joining the other millionaires the bank has produced.”
Reacting, one of the winners, Aliu Yaro, said:” I am elated, UBA is the best.”
The ‘Save to Win’ promo was launched early 2021. Draws to select winners will hold every quarter.
A total of N40 million would be won by customers who operate savings account with the bank.
