A 20-year-old man has been arrested by Indian police for allegedly raping a 100-year-old grandmother in her own bedroom.
The old woman’s family members were alerted to the situation after hearing calls for help from her room, at their home in a village in Nadia district, West Bengal, eastern India.
The suspect, Argha Biswas was hiding underneath the elderly woman’s bed when the family members rushed in. He was arrested shortly afterwards.
When Biswas was questioned, he told reporters outside the court that he was under the influence of alcohol and did not know what he was doing.
The old woman was taken to a hospital following the alleged incident but was discharged on Wednesday.

“Her family members found the man when she cried for help. They found Argha Biswas under the bed, he was caught by the family members of the old woman.”
