In the 2017 fiscal year, President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the State House headquarters will spend about N1.05bn on foreign trips.
They will also spend N353.115million on local trips.
These are some of the details of the 2017 budget proposal currently before the National Assembly as obtained by Punch on Thursday.

This is the breakdown of the travel budget proposal:
Foreign trips
Buhari – N739.487m
Osinbajo – N218.296m
State House Headquarters – N97.208m
Local trips
Buhari – N238.201m
Osinbajo – N88.364m
State House Headquarters – N26.44m
Foodstuffs and catering materials for Buhari, Osinbajo
- Buhari – N114.967m
- Osinbajo – N53.494m
- State House Headquarters – N123.223m
- For the State House Headquarters, government allocated N100.82m for the payment of outstanding balance on acquired canteen and kitchen equipment for the Banquet Hall, auditorium and Defence House while it is N21.6m for cooking gas and N97.2m for refreshment and meals.
- Office of the Chief of Staff to the President – N1.152m
- Lagos Liaison Office of the State House – N8.350m for foodstuffs and catering materials; N900,000 for cooking gas and fuel cost.
