A 13-year-old girl is currently being treated in a hospital in Rivers State after a yet-to-be identified man abducted and raped her.
Reports suggested that the poor girl was attacked on her way to school. She was released hours later with blood stains all over her school uniform.
Activist, Gwamnishu Emefiana Harrison, who shared the story on Facebook, wrote: “13 Years old girl abducted by a man of about 40years, held the little girl hostage for hours and released her in this condition. #EndRape”
According to Harrison, who is the Director-General of Behind Bars Right Foundation, the continued and unchecked incidents of rape of minors are giving credence to calls for jungle justice for perpetuators.
He revealed that “the little girl is responding to treatment in an undisclosed clinic” and that the team are on their way to Rivers to support the victim and her family.
He called on Nigerians to act against sexual crimes against children in their various capacities, stressing that lawmakers in the country should also be made to play their role.
