Barely 48 hours after results of the Kano State Local Government election held on Saturday, January 16, were announced, the newly-elected chairman of Bebeji Local Government Area, Ali Namadi, is dead.
A statement signed by the All Progressives Congress Publicity Committee Chairman (APC) of the election in Bebeji Local Government, Ibrahim Adamu Tiga, said Namadi died in the early hours of Tuesday.
Tiga said that the new chairman died around 1am on Tuesday, adding that the late Namadi drove himself to the hospital at the local government, but died a few minutes later. He said the doctor confirmed that Namadi died of complications resulting from high blood pressure.
The late Namadi was elected chairman of Bebeji Local Government on the platform of APC in the election held across the state last Saturday.
He will be buried later on Tuesday according to Islamic rites at his residence.
