Embattled former chairman of the Finance and Appropriation Committee of the House of Representatives, Abdulmumin Jibrin has decided to go into lecturing without pay.
He tweeted this afternoon that he was offering himself for “lecturing and capacity building for higher institutions, CSO and NGOs pro bono”
“My first love is lecturing. After all, my childhood ambition was to be a Professor in my 30’s.I have probably lost that one but won others”, he said
This comes amid the controversies still being generated by his allegations that principal officers of the House, led by Speaker Yakubu Dogara, padded the 2016 budget.
While it is not clear if the modules he would be teaching would include “The Art of Budget Padding”, Jibrin says: “At the risk of sounding immodest,I will candidly say my memory is fresh enough to deal with any module in Pol Sci International Relations/Diplomacy, Strategic Studies, Leadership, Nigerian Legislature, Nigerian budget and Public Finance or simply sharing my personal experience as a scholar, intern, writer, business man, family man, lecturer, philanthropist & later politician”
I am offering my service pro bono to any uni or institution within Abuja to lecture for a start ,preferably final-year under&post grad
I have missed lecturing, classroom & lecture theatre that I couldn’t help but display my enthusiasm & predilection for tutorship to the public can also offer lectures&capacity; for CSO&NGOs especially on budget tracking,Legislative Studies,Public Finance, etc…..in all the modules, students will have an added advantage of tapping from my cognate experience and life challenges
Any university, institution,NGO or CSO interested in my free offer, should feel free to contact me –I wouldn’t mind starting immediately!
Is anyone going to write about “The Art of Budget Padding” or “budget padding 101”? Jibrin says he has dealt with something like that in his memoir to be released soon.
One of his followers tweeting @ademolajustus, asked him: “Can you do any write-up on – “The Making & Padding of Budgets; Dramatis Personae; Irresponsibility & the Criminalities thereof?”
And Jibrin replied: “I have dealt with that in my memoir to be out soon”
