The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Osun State, Sen. Ademola Adeleke, has clarified a statement he made when he paid a visit to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II.
Adeleke, who paid a visit to the monarch at his place in Ile Ife on Wednesday evening, had said he will provide a private jet and helicopters for Oba Ogunwusi, if he emerges as the governor of the state in the 2022 poll.
The statement had since generated mixed reactions from the public.
But Adeleke, who was the PDP governorship candidate in the 2016 election, said he made the statement on a lighter mood.
In a short statement he personally signed, and made available to journalists, Adeleke said: “It was on a lighter mood that I mentioned it that when I become governor, Ooni would no longer be required to go to Ibadan to board aeroplane. I said Osun will have to pay attention to its airport project and make it functional. Regarding the private jet mentioned, what I said was that my my elder brother, Dr. Deji Adeleke, has private jet and I promised to make it available for the use of the state.”
