As part of activities lined up to commemorate the 40 years of leaving Adeola Odutola College, Ijebu Ode, the 1979-1984 set is ready to commission the multi-million naira solar street light donated to the school.
A statement signed by the President, Adeola Odutola College Old Students Association, 1979-1984 set, Abiodun Balogun, said the commissioning would be done on Friday, July 19, 2024.
According to Balogun, the celebration which kicked off with a thanksgiving service on Sunday, June 16, to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Founder’s Day, will also witness a special Jumat service in the school.
He noted that the programme will commence with members of the set participating in the morning assembly with the students by 8am, followed by a courtesy call on the principal and management of the school.
The president said the commissioning of the installed solar street lights, which was donated by the set to their alma mater is slated for 11a.m.
Balogun said they will join the Muslim community of the school to observe a Jumat service, specially for the set .
Other activities lined up for the anniversary include a get together and gala night where the old students will reunite and reminisce on their five years stay in the school.
The president added that the set is grateful to God for His benevolence on them as it had produced professors and academicians, top civil servants, businessmen and women, educationists among several others both at home and in the diaspora.
Recall that the set regrouped in 2014 to mark its 30 years anniversary with the renovation of some classrooms in the school.
