The lawmaker representing Ibadan South East/ North East Federal Constituency, Hon. Abass Adigun (Agboworin), has facilitated the establishment of an air force base to Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Chief of Air Staff, Isiaka Amao, disclosed this during a courtesy visit to Governor Seyi Makinde, on Thursday.
Amao commended the governor and Agboworin, for their efforts in facilitating the project.
He lauded the governor for making the state conducive for air force personnel and also applauded Agboworin, who is the vice chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Air Force, for constantly serving as the bridge between him and the state government, as well as ensuring that the project sees the light of the day.

Speaking, Makinde promised to donate the sum of N500 million for the construction of the permanent air force base, which would be located in Ajia, Egbeda Local Government Area of the state.
The governor assured that his administration will continue to support the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) personnel.
“We want one of the best air force bases in the country to be located here in Ibadan, and our government will do everything possible to achieve that. On behalf of the government of Oyo State, I make a pledge that we, as a state, will contribute N500 million,” Makinde stated.
Makinde, Amao and Agboworin, accompanied by other top government functionaries, later went to the location where the air force base would be sited to perform the official groundbreaking ceremony.
The permanent air force base would be sited on 58.58 hectares of land donated by the Oyo State Government to NAF.
