The Chief Press Secretary to Oyo State Governor, Mr Taiwo Adisa, on Tuesday disclosed that his principal, Engr. Seyi Makinde, contracted coronavirus with known people in Abuja.
The governor had on Monday confirmed that he tested positive to coronavirus.
Speaking on Silverbird Television (STV) on Tuesday morning, Adisa said there is no need to politicise the issue of the coronavirus pandemic.
Dismissing the insinuations that the governor may have contracted the virus at the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) rally on March 18, 2020, the CPS states that the issue of the rally doesn’t come into play because there was no known incident of the virus in Oyo state at the time, adding that the governor did not have or show any symptom(s) during the period.
“The issue of the March 18, PDP South West Zonal Unification Rally doesn’t come to play because there was no known incident of the virus in Oyo state and the governor didn’t also have any symptom(s) as at that time.
“The governors went back to Abuja the following day and they held series of meetings. The governor had contact with people that are known to have the virus . So, we should not politicise an issue like this,” Adisa said
