The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Monday said it would intensify aerial operations within Lagos State to better secure the area.
The incoming Air Officer Commanding (AOC), Logistics Command, Air Vice Marshal Nnamdi Eke, said this after he took over the mantle of leadership of the command in Lagos.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Eke took over from Air Vice Marshal Ibrahim Yahaya, who has been posted to the NAF headquarters as the Chief of Administration.
The new AOC said efforts were ongoing by NAF to deploy additional platforms to the command to further secure the areas.
“You will recall that just recently, the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Gabriel Olonisakin, was here to inaugurate one of Air Force’s platforms, an helicopter.
“These are parts of the efforts the force is making to ensure that security issues are taken care of.
“So the Air Force is coming with additional platforms to ensure that we put in more efforts in areas of security,” he said.
