Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi has formally signed into law the bill on prohibition of violence against women in public and private lives ans well as the re-peeling of criminal administrative law in Oyo State.
The governor signed the bills – Administration of Criminal Justice Law 2016 and Violence Against Women Law 2016 – shortly after the state executive meeting on Monday.
The Administration of Criminal Justice Law 2016 provides for the speedy and efficient administration of criminal justice, and other matters related to it.
The Violence Against Women Law 2016 prohibits violence against women in public and private life, harmful traditional practices, and prescribe punishment for the offences and other matters connected to it.
“Our administration is a law abiding one and anything that can be done to maintain law and order will be promoted by this government” the governor said
