Reports are rife of Fulani herdsmen in Oyo state raping women as a way of settling scores with their farmer-husbands.
The state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, on Wednesday, frowned at the crime, warning that any herdsmen caught indulging in the act will end up in jail.
The governor gave the warning on Wednesday during a meeting between the Fulani herdsmen and farmers in the state to end protracted feud that had led to loss of lives and properties.
Ajimobi also warned farmers not to poison water or crops to kill cows and that cattle rearers too, must not allow their cows stray into farms.

He stated that there will be committees at state, local government and community level to sit on matters between Fulani herdsmen and Yoruba farmers and both parties must agree on recommendations from the committees.
Also speaking, the commissioner of police in the state, Leye Oyebade explained that the peace meeting is to ensure harmony between Fulani herdsmen and Yoruba farmers in development.
He said it was to forestall any incident similar to the Enugu massacre.
