Former Secretary to Oyo State Government and Ekefa Balogun of Ibadanland, Oloye Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, has described the late former Attorney General of the Federation, Chief Richard Akinjide, as a role model for the generations after him.
The former Minister of Justice, Akinjide, died in the early hours of Tuesday at his Idi-Ishin residence.
Alli, in a statement he personally signed and obtained by Newspeakonline, said: “Chief Richard Osuolale Abimbola Akinjide was a man to be emulated in many ways. He achieved many greats in his life. For me he was a role model for the generations after him.”
He added: “In the Legal profession he rose to the peak as an Attorney General of Nigeria. In Politics he was involved from pre-independence to the top echelon of the ruling National Party of Nigeria (NPN) in the second republic.
“As an Ibadan man, his name is still to be mentioned as one of the role models and success stories for the younger generation. As a family man, he has raised children who are already flying the flag of the Akinjide family. Among them is my sister, the iconic Oloye Jumoke Akinjide who I’ve called to condole with. Chief Richard Akinjide was a successful man. He lived a long and fulfilled life.”
The Ibadan High Chief prayed that the soul of the legal luminary would rest in peace.
