The governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement(APM) during the last general elections in Ogun state, Adekunle Akinlade, has led loyalists of the former governor of the state, Ibikunle Amosun, back to the All Progressives Congress(APC).
It would be recalled that Akinlade and other loyalists of Amosun had left the APC for APM just before the last election after losing their tickets to the incumbent, Dapo Abiodun and the other APC candidates.
Akinlade who was the preferred candidate of Amosun in the last election, on Monday, announced that he and other members of the APM have resolved to return to the APC, 15 months after they dumped the party.
The APM governorship candidate disclosed this while speaking with newsmen at the APM secretariat in Leme, Abeokuta, insisting that they remain the legitimate owners of the APC.
He explained that he and his loyalists left APC in October 2018 because of the alleged injustice meted out to them by the national leadership of the party.
He, however, said it became imperative for them to set their grievances aside and return to the party after they had used all available means to fight the injustice.
