Akwa Ibom Assembly under siege again as members clash, Governor Udom storms complex

Another round of fracas rocked the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly on Tuesday as five suspended members of the House clashed with other members at the assembly premises.

Security men shot sporadically into the air to disperse some youths who tried to pursue Nse Ntuen, the factional Speaker and the other four out of the premises.

Reports said Ntuen and others arrived the chambers early before the time for plenary with plans to impeach the state governor, Udom Emmanuel and suspend 20 other lawmakers.

The governor reportedly arrived the venue with members of his cabinet and security details, about 10am which helped the youths to pursue the 5 lawmakers out of the assembly premises.
