The All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Oyo South, Akogun Sharafadeen Alli, has described Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Lekan Balogun as a loving father who cares for his children.
Alli, in a statement he personally signed on Tuesday, said he was happy that Olubadan clocked 80 in sound health, adding that the ancient city has witnessed many developments after his enthronement.
The former Secretary to the State Government further said Ibadan land would always be grateful for the contributions of the Olubadan towards the development of the city.
“Today marks another history in this great city. I am happy my father clocked 80. He was a detribalised Nigerian. He was a lecturer at the Ahmadu Bello University,Zaria, in Kaduna State. He was a Senator, Federal Republic of Nigeria. A distinguished Nigerian and respected leader before he became Olubadan. I celebrate him.
“I am wishing him a long life and more prosperity. His reign has witnessed more development in Ibadan land. He has proved to be politically neutral and we love him. On behalf of progressives in Oyo State and my family, I am saying congratulations to you sir,” he said.
Alli added that he was optimistic that Ibadan land will witness more development and prosperity during the time of the monarch.
