Operatives of Amotekun in Osun State have arrested eight suspected criminals who have been perpetrating their evil acts around Ife, Modakeke, and Ilesa.

The suspects were paraded by the field commander of Amotekun in the state, Amitolu Shittu.

The suspects, according to Shittu, were arrested in different parts of the state for various crimes including robbery and rape.

One of the suspects, Uchenna Elon, was allegedly planning to carry out robbery in Ilesa when he was arrested. He was arrested in a hotel while awaiting the arrival of other members of his gang

Speaking, Shittuappreciated the cooperation of other security agencies particularly the Department of State Services(DSS), promising to hand over the suspects to the police once investigations were completed.

He said the Ilesa-Akure and Gbongan-Waasinmi-Ikire roads are now safe for motorists.

The operatives recovered three vehicles including a white Peugeot loaded with goods worth millions of naira.
