The United Kingdom (UK) chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has extended its reach across the country. The Bedfordshire chapter of the party was inaugurated recently
Speaking at the inauguration held at the University of Bedfordshire, Luton, the Chairman of the APC in the country, Dr Phillip Ideawor, commended members of the party for their commitment to the values of the party.
Ideawor also commended Nigerians for choosing the party in the last general election, particularly for voting for Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, members of the National Assembly and governors across the country.
He added that the APC UK supported Buhari because it recognized that the country needed to be reformed, pointing out that the UK chapter of the party has a pool of competent talents and professionals that can be of service to the incoming APC government and Nigerians.
Idaewor listed achievements of the APC UK to include a visit to Downing Street [UK’s seat of government]; aligning the party with the Socialist International and the organization of the president-elect’s successful presentation at the Chatham House, London.
He urged the Bedfordshire chapter to set standards for other branches.
The Chairman of Bedfordshire, the new chapter, Mr Patrick Obuseh, said the Bedfordshire chapter of the party came into being as a result of the members’ passion for progress and positive change in Nigeria. He also commended Nigerians for embracing the APC.
Other members of the Executive are Mr Yemi Kolawole (Secretary); Mr Tunde Ajisola (Organising Secretary); Mr Christian Uchenna (Treasurer) and Mr Muyiwa Odufowokan (Publicity Secretary),
Also at the event were the National Deputy chairman, APC UK, Mr Tunde Doherty; Women Leader, Mrs Abiola Orunkoya and other members of the Executive of the party as well as Nigerians resident in the UK.
