The Minister of Women Affairs, Aisha Alhassan, on Thursday, appeared before the national working committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The party had summoned the minister over her statement that she would support Atiku Abubakar, former vice-president, for president in 2019 even if President Muhammadu Buhari runs in the election.
She appeared before the NWC in a closed-door meeting at the APC headquarters in Abuja. John Oyegun, national chairman of the party, and Bolaji Abdullahi, spokesman of the party, were present at the meeting.
In a video that went viral last week, Alhassan declared Abubakar as “president 2019″.
Her declaration has put her at odds with some members of her party such as Nasir el-Rufai, Kaduna state governor, who said she was never loyal to Buhari.
